ASTHMA

Symptoms  of asthma:

 

  • Shortness  of breathe and rapid breathing

  • Coughing or wheezing

  • Anxiety and restlessness

 

Asthma  can be dangerous  as the lung function  can deteriorate very quickly  without producing the wheezing sounds.  

 

 GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ASTHMA

 

1. Remove known triggers-animal hair, dust mites, moulds, grasses and other pollens, perfumes and lug in air fresheners-  also be aware that household cleaning products have been known to bring on asthma attacks very quickly use vanilla fridge wipe for general wiping or orange cleaners, use apple cider vinegar and bicarbonate of soda in the shower and bath  areas, Metho can be used on wooden floors and windows-Find healthy alternatives. Please note that some essential and fragrant oils can also affect breathing and bring on asthma attacks. Remove all carpets from sleeping areas. 

 

Keep animals out of his house

 

2. Remove congesting foods-mainly DAIRY-

Asthma is a syndrome of reversible bronchial obstruction in hyper-responsive airways mediated by allergy or other   trigger factors. Allergic disease represents true asthma while transient wheezing may be caused by factors  such as viral infection, aspiration, prematurity and neonatal lung damage and is likely to be outgrown within a few years  

 

Asthma is produced by: constriction   of the bronchial tubes and an excessive amount of mucous production   in the bronchial tubes. These abnormalities narrow the airways, so the amount of air entering  the lungs decreases .

 

Asthma   is caused  by an overreaction of the bronchial tubes  to the following:

  • Airborne  pollutants  smoke and pollens-

  • Viral infections of the respiratory tract

  • Food allergies

  • Stress

  • Sudden changes in environmental temperature

  • Exercise

  • Immune dysfunction which is often triggered by poor diet

 

Follow the Acid/Alkaline diet Drink lots of water. Avoid colouring and flavourings-found in almost all refines products-cordial, lollies, biscuits…to name a few…

 

Other congesting foods include-chocolate, ice-ream, potatoes, capsicums, eggplant, melon, dried fruit, bananas and fruit juices. Avoid oranges and sugar!!!!! Be careful with strawberries, grapes, any berries as they are highly sprayed. Wash all fruit and vegetables carefully or buy Organic produce. Eggs and nuts are always in question?

 

3. HYPERVENTILATION – is a problem that underlies many illnesses. Professor Constsantin Buteyko, a Russian doctor with many years experience in treating asthma has developed a breathing method that helps to avoid and prevent asthma attacks. Find a local place that you can learn this method known as the BUTEYKO METHOD.

 

 4. Look for emotional; triggers????
