Sort out sugar cravings NOW!

WHO DOESN’T HAVE SUGAR CRAVINGS??

Well if you do, you may be missing some specific nutrients, and if you continue to consume it the HEALTH RISKS are not worth it!

Sugar cravings involve insufficient amounts of particular nutrients within the body. Chromium, in particular, is beneficial when giving up sugar in the diet. It can be ingested by way of supplements or in foods including dried beans, grapes and broccoli. Nutrients that the body may be deprived of consist of sulphur (found in horseradish, onions, cabbage, kale, cranberries, cruciferous vegetables, shallots, leeks and garlic), carbon (fresh fruits), tryptophan (spinach, sweet potato and raisins) and phosphorus (nuts, legumes, fish and grains). These nutrients can combat and stabilise the sugar craving and lead the individual to a much healthier future. It is common for an individual to find that satisfying their sweet tooth or sugar craving becomes a harder task to master. A sugar TREAT every two or three days does not help, and it seems that the sugar craving individual suffers more so than another person whom rarely eats sweets and doesn’t suffer from persistent sugar cravings. This is due to the body’s reaction to consuming sugar. An excess of sugar causes the homeostasis (regulation of the body’s constant internal environment) of the body to become abnormal – as a result of ingesting sugar, the blood glucose level raises to a state that is higher than usual and due to this, the pancreas secretes insulin which assists the cells to process the glucose and return the blood sugar level back to its regular state. However, when a good deal of sugar is consumed a greater amount of insulin is required and overcompensates resulting in the blood sugar being too low. There are many side effects that face the body when sugar is a regular portion of the diet. The disease that afflicts many women, candida, a recurrent vaginal yeast infection is greatly affected by sugar. This is due to the yeast feeding on the sugar. It is difficult for a woman with candida to eliminate sugar from her diet, as the candida is literally crying out for sugar. It is wise to relace simple sugars with complex carbohydrates such as whole vegetables and supplements including chromium, glutamine or fenugreek. Also people who eat lots of high-glycaemic foods are nearly three times more likely to develop colon cancer. Sugar has also shown to feed cancerous cells of the breast, lung, stomach, prostate, pancreas, ovaries, gallbladder and rectum. Insulin in the bloodstream has also been linked to atherosclerosis, hypertension and coronary heart diseases such as stroke. The sugars are digested and converted into saturated fats which affect the vascular system, leading to clogged arteries, diabetes, a decrease in athletic performance due to the oxygen transport system being involved and obesity. A lower resting metabolism is the result due to the chronic fatigue the individual experiences. These simple sugars have also been noted to provoke personality disorders and mood swings and mental illness and aggravate asthma.A significant increase in bad cholesterol, triglycerides and total cholesterol can result, as well as a decrease in good cholesterol. The impact sugar can have on the body is relentless. Aside from the most obvious detrimental effects sugar has, many are unaware of additional effects caused by the consumption of sugar. These include: sugar causing food allergies, gallstones, varicose veins, haemorrhoids, appendicitis, autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, toxaemia during pregnancy, cataracts, emphysema, epileptic seizures, migraines, headaches, depression and gum disease, sugar can contribute to eczema in children and increase the chance of gout, increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, increase the body’s fluid retention and can worsen the symptoms of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Sugar can also cause hormonal imbalances including a decrease in growth hormone, intensifying premenstrual syndrome and increasing oestrogen in males. Sugar also alters the mind’s thinking capacity and affects those inflicted with learning disabilities. Sugar can actually deplete and interfere with the absorption of vitamins, minerals and nutrients within the body. Such examples of this are the interference of absorption of protein, calcium and magnesium, the levels of vitamin E are reduced and enzymes function at a lesser rate. DID YOU KNOW THAT? 1 Litre Coke has already 120gr (24 teaspoons!) of Sugar!

Red Bull: The caffeine amount of 10 Espressos and three times as much Sugar as Coke! This is a drink that youngsters already consume regularly!!!???
